Kawita Vatanajyankur (b. 1987) was born in Bangkok, Thailand. In 2011, she graduated with distinction from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, with a Bachelor of Art majored in Fine Art.

Vatanajyankur’s art explores themes of labour, consumption, feminism, and environmental concerns. She uses performative video series to examine modern agriculture, the physical abilities and vulnerabilities of the body, and the relationship between the female body and domestic objects. Her work provokes questions of physical resilience, strength, and insecurity while offering a critique towards ignorance while emphasising environmental concerns. The artist aims to tell stories of universality, hope, and despair, using a range of visual languages to create a contemporary and thought-provoking body of work.

Vatanajyankur’s work is collected by Singapore Art Museum, MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Chiang Mai, MOCA Museum of Contemporary Art, Bangkok and so on. The artist has undertaken research residency programs in New Zealand and Bangkok, she has won several awards including Perspective 40 Under 40 Award 2018, as well as Generation T Asia 2019. Vatanajyankur has also been featured on the New York Times.

Vatanajyankur is currently represented by Nova Contemporary in Bangkok and Antidote Organisation in Australia. 



カウィタ・ヴァタナジャンクール (1987年生) は、タイ・バンコク出身のアーティストです。彼女は2011年、ロイヤルメルボルン工科大学(オーストラリア・メルボルン)で美術学士号ををオナーズ(優等)にて卒業しまし た。

ヴァタナジャヤンクルの芸術作品は、労働、消費、フェミニズム、環境問題などのテーマを探求しています。 彼女はパフォーマンスビデオシリーズを使って、現代農業、身体の能力と脆弱性、女性の身体と家庭用品の関係を調べています。彼女の作品は、身体の強さと不安定さに関する疑問を呼び起こし、無知に対する批判と環境問題の重要性を強調しています。アーティストは、現代的で思考を促す作品群を作成するために、様々なビジュアル言語を使用し、普遍性、希望、絶望の物語を伝えることを目指しています。

ヴァタナジャヤンクルの作品は、シンガポール美術館、MAIIAM現代美術館(チェンマイ)、MOCA現代美術館(バンコク)などにコレクションされています。アーティストは、ニュージーランドやバンコクでのリサーチ・レジデンスを受けたことがあり、Perspective 40 Under 40 Award 2018やGeneration T Asia 2019など、数多くの賞を受賞しています。また、ニュ ーヨーク・タイムズでも紹介されました。

ヴァタナジャヤンクルは現在、Nova Contemporary(バンコク)およびAntidote Organisation(オーストラリア)によって代表されています。
